Mario Sundar

Mario Sundar has almost a decade experience in leadership roles, both in Marketing and Corporate Communications with a technology background in Software Development. Mario currently works at LinkedIn, the World’s largest online professional networking site, as Sr. Global Social Media guy. Prior to that, he helped develop & manage marketing initiatives for Fortune 50 high-tech brands such as Intel, Hitachi and Sun Microsystems. Mario has also been on the board of the American Marketing Association (2004 - 2006) leading their collegiate efforts.

As Social Media Evangelist at LinkedIn, Mario is tasked with coming up with the social media strategy, direction and implementation of LinkedIn's official content properties ranging from LinkedIn's corporate blog, their micro-blogging engagement on sites such as Twitter to their presence on online video channels. He's responsible for building and growing LinkedIn's audience for all things social media - both PR and marketing - created on all their social media properties: the LinkedIn blog with over a million annual page views ranks as one of the Top 10 corporate blogs on the planet (ranked #8), and their YouTube/Vimeo channels combined have over half a million views since it's inception less than a year ago. He's been ranked #15 by Edelman in their Top 30 Social Media Influencer rankings.

In 2006, Mario launched his own marketing blog where he discusses customer evangelism, community marketing and social media strategy. Ranked as one of the fastest growing Wordpress blogs, “Marketing Nirvana” continues to expand its readership each week and has become a leading voice in the social media marketing space. Marketing Nirvana is ranked in AdAge's Top 150 Marketing Blogs and has a Technorati Rank of 7,113/ Alexa Ranking of 142,830.
