
Manages online advertising for Intuit's consumer brands (TurboTax and Quicken), with a focus of online display advertising, analytics and social media. He's responsible for ensuring that integration across online channels (display, social, affiliate, search) is achieved when working with partners, but also tight integration with offline advertising, as was seen in last year's Superstatus social media contest integration with the TurboTax NBC network partnership.
Distinguishing between direct response media and creative versus branded response (including social and rich media) is critical to staying focused on achieving a campaign's overall ROI target, while still pushing for innovation. Hovis is also responsible for managing Intuit's digital media and creative agency relationships and helps lead Intuit's cross company Web Marketing Community which facilitates marketing best practices, sharing and learning across business all units at Intuit.
At Intuit for four years and previously managed online advertising for Sony Electronics, Chela Financial, GSI Commerce, and Fogdog.com and brings a diverse array of knowledge in consumer branded vs. direct response online advertising strategies and tactics, regardless of budget. He holds a marketing degree from University of Colorado as well as an MBA with an emphasis in marketing and finance from University of San Diego.
